Default Infinity Reference 6510cs component speakers

Just upgraded my speakers to give a little more volume with the hood down.

I've fitted Kenwood KFC-1316S in the rear panels and the Infinity Mid-range & tweeters in the doors using bits for Lucid's site.

Unfortunately the bass and mid-range from the infinity speakers is worst than the rear Kenwood's and even the stock speakers.

Could this be a setup problem with the crossovers? Was I correct to wire the crossover to the stock mid-range speaker harness? Is there the stock crossover inline?

BTW I using a JVC KD-AVX2 head unit with 4x50 watts.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try adjusting the treble clipping on the crossovers!

Try reversing the polarity on one of the speakers.

Getting the phase wrong has an effect similar to your description-thin sound lacking in bass.

I fitted these not long ago in my Subaru. I found the tweeters extremely bright and had to use the -3dB connectors to shut them down a bit. There is ample bass.

Without being insulting, have you got the polarity right to the woofers as shopman suggested? Just make sure that the polarities are the same on both sides of the car. Its easy to make sure that tweeters and woofers are wired the right way as they are polarity marked on the crossovers and speakers. Double check they are all correct on both sides, and that picked up the right pair of terminals. You may have the feed to the crossover reversed on one side (the input to crossover from the original car wiring loom) try swapping one pair and retest the bass.

You can check all this on the bench before fitting. Wire it all up as per the instructions and face the bass cones towards each other. If bass is weak then swap the feed wires to the crossover on one side. then install without worry
