Iffy Immobiliser/Alarm ?
Hiya Folks !
Last Friday, I've experienced a possible burnt out alarm/immobiliser board........ ie the car not showing the green key or MIL when the ignition is switched on and the car only turning over on the starter but not firing ! I tried it about 20 times whilst wating 3 hours for the RAC to turn up, but still no tell tale lights on the dash !
Finally Mr RAC turns up, gets out his van, asks me what the problem is, takes my keys, presses the buttons on the fob, puts the key in and Hey Presto... she lives again !! Bugger... just wasted 3 hours of my life for someone to sort it out in under 2 minutes !
The only thing different I noticed when MR RAC did this, was that the alarm made a 'beep' 'beep' noise when he de-immobilised it.... it's never done it before ?!
I've read a lot about fried alarm boards, but can I repair this myself with a steady soldering hand ?

I've just had my car recovered to Honda in Lincoln as I had exactly the same issue last week. My alarm had been going off randomly, but then just immobilised itself out of the blue.
Unfortunately, it turns out that my board had just burnt out, and will cost just shy of

Cheers AquilaEagle. I've sent an email to that address. Hopefully I can try and arrange a discount for the Lincoln S2000 crowd. I'll keep everyone posted.
Had I lived a few miles closer to Peterborough, Marshall's offer the discount. Disappointed Lincoln didn't, but hopefully that'll change
Thanks for the suggestion
