I made one out of bits of wood and an old carpet in the end. Basically it leans up against the garage wall, and the wood acts like "chocks" to stop it all faling over. Works well and cost precisely nothing (all bits I had laying around "in case they came in handy one day"

Ah, I made one out of push fit upvc and its not really strong enough to support the HT.
I was lucky as it can lean against the wall in the shed its in but its not really an ideal solution.
I think the chemical weld stuff is OK though.

Oh hang on I don't have a hardtop
Reckon I should look into getting one at a reasonable price!

I put my top the other way up for two reasons.
One so i did not damage the leading edge of the hardtop
Two the glass is more protected that way up but did not get that close too it.
Use the solvent weld its def strong enough, i glued all mine up except the cross beams so it could be flat packed if needed to move or sell your S

With the glass at the bottom, it seems to me that the curved rear edge is more likely to 'straighten out'.
We know from other postings that the hardtop can distort when not on the car and that can lead to problems in getting the rear cam locks to engage and the rear seal to fit snugly.
But chacun a son goute as Potfish and Frenchie would say!
