ICE Upgrade - Later Cars?
I have read the info on potential speaker and radio upgrades on the S2000, but they tend to be suggesting this is most important of cars up to MY02.
Is it still worth upgrading the ICE system on a newer car? I have MY06 with the built in rear speakers behind the headrests and the overall system seems quite good. However, I think it struggles a bit to compete with the car's other (good) noises. Are the speakers up to the job, or is it still worth changing them for more expensive models? Also, is the standard radio/cd capable of driving better speakers or should I consider a different head unit?
If you have a later car and have changed your ICE system, please offer your advice.
If I am to upgrade, any recommendations on kit and is there a good ICE fitter around Portsmouth that anyone has used?
On a separate note, does anyone know if there is a minijack aux in socket on the back of the head unit in the S?

I had an 06 for 8 months and noticed a great improvement with an Alpine 9850R HU love the Ipod interface on it.
I had intentions to amp it up but never got round to it.
The roll hoop speakers are alot better than the seats ones but a crap compared to a decent set up with an amp.

Can't help you with your other ICE questions but see the link in my sig if your after an adapter for your dash controls ...
I have taken a look behind my radio and there is no 'aux in', just a CD changer socket I could use. I want to be able to connect a TomTom Go 910 to the audio system and my iPod to the TT Go. The TT uses a mini jack cable, would the adapter cater for this?

Was it easy to change the Head Unit? Did you also change the speakers?
The speakers in the roll hoops sound very thin when you face the sound to the back, do you think that these little speakers could be improved as well?

Just changing the HU on my 06 made a big difference.
Compared well with my other S's that had a full ICE works.
The roll hoop speakers are only tweeters so only produce high frequency.
There are a few US guys who have messed with them. I looked at it and couldn't find anything suitable to replace them with.
My favourite step up had 5.25" components built in to the roll hoop with a four channel amp!

I'm with Mikey, also got an 06 and changed the lot as it's crap!
The head rest speakers are average, and only really good for 'surround / stereo' effect.
See my sig for more details of what I have done.
FWIW, I think it's amazing, it's 500 times better than stock, and there is no problem listening to your tunes at 90+

The stock system is good up to a point, but it loses a lot at higher speeds.
Thanks for the links, I will investigate this system. Did you fit it yourself?
