I use the halfords leads with a Kenwood radio in a 2002 car. The halfords leads work very well, but there is only one thing that won't work and that is to change radio channel with the CH button - it will instead search for the next channel as if you were tuning the radio. We had a thread on this a while back and I think it was confirmed that this is the case with all aftermarket radios including Sony.

I used the halfords leads, and i have had no problem. I also have the idpod connection, the box is roughly the size of a fag packet one one cable connecting to the hu and one connecting to my ipod. I placed the box in the centre console underneath the sliding secret compartment then drilled a small hole in the 'glove' box and pulled the cable through. My ipod now sits in the glove box.

Hope this helps
Excellent news, that sounds exactly like my equipment...I'll look forward to playing the 'how much stuff can you fit into a tiny gap' game...With my Alfa, I got so annoyed that I ended up cutting and shortening most of the wires to the absolute minimum required and it was still a squeeze!

Thanks all for the replies. I think I will go for the Halfords (partly because it is about 3 minutes from my house and I won't have to wait for anything and partly because I like to be able to take it back and give them grief if there are any problems).

hth,

i didnt have to cut any wires, if you lift the centre console to put the box in there, when you put it back make sure to pull it towards the glove box for it to fit properly otherwise the hu cover does not come down properly.

Just got the sub to fit now and im happy
