Think your idea of a quarry would be good James. It would tie in with the name Moonrock and the S would look good juxaposed against the spoil and weird and wonderful machinery found in working quarries.

I was looking for a location and ventured into the, possibly out of bounds, environs of a newly built power station. Luckily for me I was spotted by and ejected by a member of staff who was about to lock the complex for the night. Just as well because I don't think the S makes a very comfortable bed.

Love looking at people's pics. Looking forward to seeing yours.

Cheers for the input guys!

I've got a Canon 30D, a Sigma 10-20mm, Tamron 24-75mm, and a Sigma 100-300mm in my collection, looking to upgrade my Tamron at some point to a Canon 24-105mm L when I can afford to - its a good investment IMO providing I get plenty of use out of it!

Well, had a couple of ideas for locations, we have quite a few wooded areas around here so may try some shots there, could be interesting I think. My neighbour owns his own business locally, factory based but has some interesting buildings for a backdrop. We also have a disused power station locally (Richborough, Kent - for those that know it), would be perfect but there is no way in I have in mind the pictures that I want to achieve but it's great to see other peoples work for ideas I can go from.

Also going to try a few detail shots of distinctive parts of the car (ie engine start button etc).

Probably be a while yet, but I'll post some as soon as I can

James

(The 24-105L is an excellent lens, and still the one I use most as a 'walkabout' lens ... but I have the full frame 5D. If I still had my 30D I would get the EF 24-70L f2.8)

I can remember about a year ago someone over on the photography forum taking some good photos with a sigma 10-20mm. I will see if I can find them.

Edit: here you go ....

You could pop over to Sizewell Nuke plant, even Dungeness way?
The white PWR dome in the background, or reflected in glass, would be cool and you wont have any trouble taking photos near it either. If you explain to the security guys on the way in, I know they wont mind, they are amiable enough. You can be quite close in the visitor carpark.

I thought there were very few 'strong' S2K images, industrial like.
Maybe something in Sodium lights with a chain link gate behind it for example.

Off to three power plants this week, and Sizewell in a fortnight. Maybe I'll go in the Honda

Very, very nice.
I would lose the car from the first one.
And lighten up shadows in the last.

I like!

That first one is bloody fantastic Rob-Gail-uk. Makes your car jump out of the pic almost 3D.

Thanks for the comments, I forgot to say they were taken on top of Clee hill, Shropshire.
