I did get in trouble as the GF was behind me. She didn't like me cooking the front of her car, but she can't say too much as the MR2 does the same.

Nah, I've analysed this. I spend a lot of research time prior to purchase, whereas you just dilly-dally once you've impulse bought something

Nick - change of subject, but the top end NSX footage makes me want an NSX with ITBs as a next purchase!
Linky snot were king four mee.

But IKWYM - they are a bit like freebasing an S2000 in addictiveness!

Good gas flow is ideal for a turbo

No what im saying is that is great this chap has got big power from a S/C but a trubo is much better suited to that sort of power level. I would guess the size of this chap's compressor wheel must give a fair bit of drag on the engine load - hence not that efficient.

I agree, a smaller more responsive turbo is ideal for a 2l 4 pot, but the bigger you go with a blower I think there is a point where it isnt a good idea. If you are aiming for big power then there are 2 ways - a big engine with a blower so you can nicely fill all those cylinders (Merc like doing this) or turbocharging a smaller unit (aka Subaru / Evo etc)

You can get to near zero lag with a turbo - I know when the Evo is as any form of normal revs it has instant punch, and its quite a reasonable sized compressor wheel / turbo.

Lag is like foreplay anyway

Exactly, a waste of time and something you'd rather skip right on past

Cheers, PL!

I have that white NSX - radio controlled, unfortunately!

I've not driven the Evo, but have to agree the Sub's instal is pretty good - boxers can be prone to throttle lag anyway, due to the long manifolds.

Honda do a turbo K23 (240bhp) for the RDX. I am sure there are lessons to be learned/borrowed there!
