I don't like taking my airbox lid off - I find it stops me from hearing the exhaust properly!
My exhaust stops me hearing my filter now,

I had some great fun with the lid off,

Such a great sound,

I know its not the best thing for the car ( and chavvy) but gotta try it for myself one day.....but only to see if it compares to the growl of my old v6 mondeo or v6 dodge :-)

Does anyone know where I can get some airbox lid clips from, a couple of mine are missing ?.
I lost a couple in the past, now I hold them in place with sticky tape when the lid is off.

Still think that lid off with stock exhaust sounds just like a corsa without filter... far too chavvy...
Seriously?

Different ends of the spectrum - VTEC versus Vac-uum

A few people at N Weald on Sunday asked what filter I had fitted as it sounded deep and throaty. Just had the lid off.

Each to their own.

I took my airbox lid off yesterday for the first time to see what the fuss was about.

Drove about 7 miles with varying roads; motorway, town, country lane - can't say I was that impressed. Given the feedback on this forum I was expecting great things but there was not a significant enough difference in sound, so I suspect I'll be refitting it soon enough.

Honda must have designed it as such for a reason, right...

Yep, it did sound better when higher up the rev range, as we'd expect, but not a significant enough difference to warrant keeping it off [when taking into account heat soak].

It's still off at the moment [in the boot!] so maybe I'll give it another chance. But like I said I suspect it will be going back on soonish!
