Chiswick offered to collect my car when I wanted something looked at.

"Great!" I said, "just let me know when the flat bed is on it's way."

"No, sir, one of our guys will drive it over"

"Uhm..."

"It's ok, all our drivers are very experienced..."

*click*

No monkey from a dealer is joyriding my car! I had to restrain myself from pulling the service manager out when he moved my car without asking last time I was there, until I realised it was because I was in the disabled space

All I can say is you're way more trusting than I would be over a 27 grand prized possession.

Well, you've got to trust the dealer to drive your car sometime - you just have to make sure its an older more experienced member of staff doing it.

My DP is quite strict about who does and doesn't deliver/test S2000's (esp after a young apprentice crashed one a few years ago ).

I am happy enough if I know that it is the DP driving mine (he's mental fast, but a good driver, and driving the car the way it should be TBH).

Hyndland Honda in Glasgow do delivery and pick up (up to 50 odd miles away), but they use old bufties, who probably don't realise the car VTECs anyway.)
