5500 revs is about right I think. I hardly ever do this manouvre so others may know what the best rpm is.

For a fast standing start for the 1/4 mile I use about 5k rpm and dump clutch very quickly. For normal standing starts out of the lights I use 4k or so and slip the clutch as its not so violent.

Slip the clutch, never dump it.

Doesn't matter if he beats you off the lights, you'll soon be waving in the rear view - probably by the time you get into second.
