Not all that much more. Any cat 1 alarm/immobiliser will work and not affect insurance, you just have to notify them and give them details of the installer.

Before I had a tracker installed I *never* had a problem insuring my car with just the Honda OEM CAT 2 Immobiliser.

The car was insured with both Admiral group and RBS group companies and it was always declared.

No one said the OP has to have one, just that the he would need need to inform his insurer of any change to the car's security system. It would be entirely reasonably for them to increase his premium accordingly.
