Just tried it with my phone (Nokia 6820) and it doesn't work
Mmmmm...... What phones have made it work correctly ??? and should this matter surely they all use IrDA or is my install bodged ?
FWIW it worked with a Nokia 7250i - but as daern said v susceptible to angle and range. I suspect this is more the phone than the detector.

I've tried it with a couple of Nokias and they've both worked ok, but it's all in the angle of the phone. I'm still considering moving the sensor outside of the car...

So does this work with the car stationary ???
I might unmount the detector and try from there.

Anyone tried this with their RA?

I have also taken off my RA laser detector to make the dash look a little 'cleaner', but with the advent of these new 3 miles laser jobbies I have been considering putting it back on.

Probably a good idea. I suspect that all of these detectors will be much better at long range stuff than closeup. All of my recent ones have been <50yds away and I've had no warnings from the B2. Over a longer distance, the laser will disperse more and be more likely to fall on the detector's sensor.

Discovered my Palm Pilot sets the laser detector on my B2 off. I just beamed my business card at it.

For more on the laser detector used by Origin have a look at http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleID=7800 and at the bottom of the review is a small piece on the detector as part of a kit by Whistler. Location looks to be critical for getting results.
