How strict are MOT houses on plate spacing?

I know your plate was small but isn`t the spacing good on that one?


Anyhow, how the hell could Honda fail it. Its so bloody shiny.

yeah the spacing is legal but the plate size aint, hence its a fail.

I like shiny, yum!

Strictly if it is no standard size, fonts, spacing or screws placed to mislead it will fail as per the DVLA links above!

My wife got pulled in our other car for G13 MYK having the 1 & 3 too close and looking like a B. She got a fault rectification notice. Took it to our friendly MOT guy down the road with the legal plates on. He pi$$ed himself at how pathetic plod had been and just signed the documents FOC! It would normally be the cost of an MOT!

I can see the point of the jobs worth tester so I have two sets for both cars.
Daily use and MOT set! !
It just isn't worth the hassle!
