Ade73 - you beat me to it.

YesI think that thread gets it mostly, short of an F20c expert from honda themselves.

Seemed to me that the consensus was little risk to engine except for a slight question mark over knock response rate - i.e. knock detection may not be as fast as one would like to certainly eliminate it altogether.

97/98 ron will give a little more power and better fuel consumption if u can get it.

I have to go out of my way to buy it - but I think its worth it on the basis of that thread anyway.

JMD - Don't use the Shell petrol station at the bottom of the M32 it has a crazy price. Go up the M32 come off at the IKEA jct. and turn right at the roundabout an go up the hill. There is a petrol station on the right and it is about 4 - 6p a litre cheaper.

I'll believe there is a significant and noticeable difference when someone conducts some proper blind tests.

I mostly use Optimax - because I have been suckered by the hype.

But I sympathise with Munkeyboy's viewpoint.

I used to always use '95. I was pestered into trying Optimax and I could definitely tell the difference - smoother and definitely less kangerooing in stop start traffic which, unfortunately, is most of my driving these days.

Now that I always use Optimax, when I occasionally put '95 in, I don't really spot a difference. It was when I was used to '95 and then upgraded that I could really tell.

No probs JMD. Can't belive that the Shell garage at the end of the M32 charges so much. Don't go to the other Shell garage after 9pm though as you have to pay first and is a real hassle.
