depends on what i have done in the 6000 miles.
if ragged it like Colin McCrae then usually needs topping with aleast 1-2ltrs.
if drove like grandad, about 200ml.
car gets oil changed at 6K regardless.

Seems as though a few litres every 6k miles is not unusual.
Just checked the dipstick and it was v v low. Admittedly its not been checked for a while.
Am using Castrol Magnatec 10W/40.

I use fully synthetic and have done since it was new. Now done 25,000 and use less than half litre in 5,000. Got to bear in mind that fully synthetic does not burn so does not have such a great loss as non synth oils.
