Hi Putney

I had a new clutch put in with the new engine, the kit was 300ish and the labour about the same done by Chiswick Honda. Take it to Barwell if you want to save on the labour.

I know I mentioned this on a clutch thread the other day, but have you tried hardtopguy?

www.hardtopguy.com

AdministrativeBudgie got his brake discs for around half price even when you included shipping. Got to be worth a try.

Kevster it depends on how the car's been driven. 30k miles of track driving and abuse is going to put the clutch under a lot more strain than 100k of motorways. Also if you do a fair amount of fast standing starts and donuts, they are also pretty hard on the clutch.

Mine's on 64k but as it doesn't rattle and the car's a MY00 I'm guessing it was changed under warranty at some point in the cars life.

Just had a look on there myself. Hardtop guy sells the Clutch Friction disc, throwout bearing and pressure plate for a total of $312.88 that (by my calculations) makes

Thanks for that Neil i'll certainly take a look at hardtopguy. I'll also check with honda to find out just when it had the replacement.

To be honest it hasn't really been abused by me so I would have hoped it would last longer but London stop start traffic everyday and healthy weekend blasts seem to have been to much.

Check your extended warranty documents yourself, Honda Dealers sell 2 types.

1. Is not worth a penny and covers the usual never fail parts.

2. This covers the clutch its call 'H2' or something.

I Say check it as my dealer tried to tell me it was not covered, until i told them it was, they then checked my warranty online in front of me and said ''oh yes it is, you have the better warranty cover''.

Leason learned, dont trust them find out yourself..
