Default How much for a litre of 99 octane

Just been to fill up with 99 octane at the BP station in Toddington, Beds. Cost of 95 octane was £1.35/l. 99 octane no price but expected it to be 7-8p a litre more. I nearly fainted when I saw it was £1.54 a litre!!! Put £5 in to get me home then found my local Shell station has stopped doing High octane petrol.....looks like it's Tesco 99 for me.

I put in £132.06 of v-power last week - thankfully it was a work prototype car and I had a fuel card.

My local Shell is always considerably more than the one near my work 20 miles away. Last week they were £1.44 and £1.56. £6 more for a full tank, doing that three or four times a month saves me £20 if I make sure I fill up in the right place.

Was pleasantly surprised to find 102RON in Adenau last week, the price changed throughout the day each day, the lowest I paid was €1.62. That's about £1.32 in English!

A few of the mappers I know now stay well clear of Tesco 99. No concrete evidence to back that up, but I trust these guys and I used to happily use 99 under their advice. Suspect they have seen issues.

Ye, Romain was warning me off it. My car is being mapped for vpower and I asked about using tesco 99. He said the tesco stuff has quality issues, one batch can be totally different to another where as vpower is consistent.

It probably doesn't matter much unless your car is highly tuned and only setup for something like vpower.

I filled my S today with V power @£1.459 /litre. ( Retford, north notts).
I now use shell regular u/l in my E46 because I have had fuel issues due to very dirty fuel filters (suspected from supermarket fuel)!
I recently changed the fuel filter on the S and the old one was clean, as was the inside of the tank. Not as easy to change as the BM but you do get high on the V power fumes.
