Problem is that I like the car and there is nothing else that I really want to replace it with.

As I said a few posts back, I'd leave it until you get back if there's any uncertainty about how long it's going to take or whether it's going to need a while to bed in and for you to spot any niggles arising from it.

Tried to get mine booked in for its 18,000 mile service pre-Arran but no-can-do - have to wait until the weekend after Its already on 17,700, so I'll just have to hope that I don't do too many miles on top of the 550 or so to and from Arran before a week on Saturday!
