Oh my god
I hope that my horrendous fuel consumption is just down to the newness (1000miles) of my car and a very heavy right foot , I just lurve the noise the VTEC makes, and I am a bit hooked at the moment.
Did everyone else get bad fuel consumption at new?
I thought that an average tank should be 200-240 miles. I am going to have to change my driving style

I get about 220 - but then when I refuel it fills up with only 40 litres. I do this every time which equates to about 25 mpg. Addicted to VTEC! With this car - mpg means nothing to me!

I've kept a record of my mpg since I got the car, and my average mpg has been 24.5
I usually fill up with Optimax as soon as I hit the 200 miles mark.
I've NEVER got anywhere near the 300 miles mark. I enjoy far too much

I didn't measure my last car and I don't measure this one, but I'm convinced I'm using more in the '03 than I was in the '02.
I drive a 90 mile round trip (the direct route, 120 if it's a nice day ) to work every day and I get one 45 mile leg less with this car than I did with the last one.
Maybe it's the relatively low mileage so far, I guess we shall see.

Whilst this is relatively on topic and in my new found bid to keep it that way
Exactly (with normal non type driving) how many miles or litres etc are left when the light pops on? and stays on as opposed to popping on and off as you go up and down hill start and stopping et al
Thanks
PL x
PS. I average between 200 and 285
