I notice the "slower" colours are not even up to responding, I guess they know when they have been vanquished

For top speed you need a silver colour (I'm sure about "grey" but that would probably be second fastest):

Interesting. Unfortunately the poster of that thread has forgotten to mention that the added sleepiness derived from being in such a dull coloured car negates the positive effects, meaning the car suffers from 'Grandadism'.
