Default How To Fit Factory Fog Light

One of the issues when I bought my car is that the fog light in the rear diffuser/bumper is hanging.

Ive had a look but can't really tell how it fits, whether its missing a bracket or not etc.

Looks like someone had used some kind of putty to temporarily fix it in place once before which is around the edges of the plastic fog light itself.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction of how to fix it properly in place whether I need new parts or not?

Here are a few pictures:

The brackets have disintegrated. You can pay Honda £££££ for new ones, or make/have some made. There's a good thread - have a search for bumper brackets.

Did mine a couple of weeks ago. Cut or otherwise remove the bolts from the light. Mine were corroded something horrid, so the cutter disk on the dremel did the job.

Make or modify two stiff rightangle brackets of the correct length. Drill holes into the bottom of the bumper (the floor, if you will) and bolt up through the floor, through the brackets and into a nyloc nut. Use a load spreading washer between the bolt head and the bumper.

Piece of cake - 1 hr fettling in the garage. Used an old gauge mounting U bracket cut in half, drilled 4 holes in it, added some stainless steel fixings et voila...

Thanks guys, I'll take another look at the fog light itself!

I got a new one made by a 3D printer. Weight saving and it won't rust

I still have the design somewhere

I'd be tempted to just buy that one, paint the bracket and away you go.

P.S. eBay links have been allowed for ages.

Had the exact same problem on my car. Looked like the previous owner had stuck it back in with bathroom sealant. Looked up the part numbers for the bracket parts and bolts and got them ordered in to my local Honda dealer along with a few bolts from B&Q.

34403-S2A-G01 - £9.56 (Right side large bracket that attaches to bumper)
34404-S2A-G01 - £3.17 (Right side tab on the fog light casing)
34453-S2A-G01 - £9.56 (Left side large bracket that attaches to bumper)
34454-S2A-G01 - £3.17 (Left side tab on the fog light casing)
93500040254J x 2 - £ 2.26 (2 screws that go through the fog light casing into the tabs)

Cost about £30 in all but a bit of a pain to get the old rusted brackets off. Had to cut the heads off the bolts that attach through the bottom of the bumper. Also had to cut the captive nut on the tabs off as the screws in the fog light housing just chewed up.
