I've got an 06 without VSA but the manual has all the details - I've not got a scanner to hand so I've photographed the pages but it should be just about readable ...

Oh ok thanks....I'll be off - nothing to see here then !!
Best thing

Traction control is built into my right foot - probably built into yours too. I don't need a button or a light to tell me if it's working.

Before anybody flames this reply I would just point out that our other car does have traction control and I do know the benefits. But I rarely have had it cut in whereas my other half is worried if the light is not flashing at her all the time.
Previous car also had it but since it was a quattro I'd have been really worried if it had ever cut in as I'm sure that would mean I'd forgotton how to drive.

I'm sure if you tried really hard you could have managed it...a friend used to own a first-gen S6, and told (tall?) tales of the slides it would do if suitably provoked!

So lets get this right - the VSA light comes on when VSA is switched off?

I'm sure the side badges are put on once the car reaches the dealer. So go and ask them for your badges instead of paying for them.

You'd need to be doing scary speeds and then all that happens is the nose pushes wide. This means you instinctively lift off which is what you are supposed to do (according to the brain in the TC).

If your friend switched the TC off and managed to get the tail out then he must know what he's doing as you have to monster it into a corner to make that happen.
It's also almost the slowest way to make progress and spend money on tyres at the same time. Also you can't hold the slide for long as the other passive systems like the torsen centre diff kick in to adjust where the power is going.
It's why all road testers including Sniff and Bushel-head say Audi's are boring.

I think your mate might be just a little.

You could be right but if so they'd already put them on, and damaged them when taking them off again. It's okay, he's not charging for the replacement ones anyway.

A couple of pics of the new car are here, just for you AE. I
