Hi,

I rescued a Sony Minidisc changer from my previous car and am keen to have it installed in my S2000 - I currently have the standard Honda tape deck front unit.

I have tried www.soundontop.co.uk but no good there. I have also had a look through some of the threads here - but it all gets far too technical for me! I have to say, I'm not an ICE enthusiast - I just want some reasonable sounds for reasonable money!

In case anyone can help me what I'd like is :-

1) To use the Sony minidisc changer (it's hardly used!)
2) To keep my dashboard controls
3) If the Sony changer cannot be easily linked to the Honda front unit then to have another front unit recommended
4) To have a good installer recommeded. I live near Bristol but do travel around a bit

I know it's a lot but can anyone advise?

cheshire_carper will soon be selling his Sony headunit and CD changer, you could incorparate your MD changer into this quite easily.

Retaining the dash controls with a Sony headunit is quite hard, you need to find a Sony Headunit which accepts IR remote control (most use the hard-wired joystick commander) and then buy a PAC SWI-X interface (from Lucid for example) to interface the dash controls with the Sony... expensive and complicated IMO.

My 2p? Look at trying to find a discontinued or pre-owned Alpine MD headunit, OK it isn't a changer but they do have a tried and tested dash control interface (KCE-865B)

As Tif says, my fully boxed unit, as new, is still for sale (although somebody asked me if it came with all the bits tonight (which it does) so that implies I have at least 1 insterested party.

Important note, it will not make use of your dash controllers without extra purchasing.
