Chances are they wouldn't have looked at me twice in the Jag, ironically I used to go a LOT faster in that. The car does 100 at 3000 revs FFS!
Nice, they change the speed limit from 60 to 30 because theyve put some cones along the side of the road and then stick a camera van under a bridge pointing into the traffic, I overtook a truck and by the time I saw it they clocked me.
Blatant revenue generation, no reason to drop the speed limit and hitting the road at both sides with Mobile units. grrrrr
Insurance company wanted 186 quid extra wen I declared the points. I managed to talk them out of it but if I get another 3 I'll consider ditching the car.
too big a target

Just to put to rest the generally held belief that laser detectors are a waste of time, mine today justified it's purchase again about 20 miles or so out of Machynlleth. I was travelling from the direction of Shrewsbury along one of those stretches which is a marked 40 limit with red tarmac patches at intervals, when I had a very loud shriek of a laser warning, I looked in my mirror - nothing -and nothing in front either, but about 200 yards further on as I went over a bit of a crest in the road and started to descend, there was the copper standing on the nearside pavement in the bottom of the dip, (Full uniform and flourescent jacket) with the laser mounted on a tripod.
Coming back about 5 ish conditions on the A5 and M6 were horrendous,( they were clearing up what was left of a Rover saloon which had wiped out big time on the A5) with pouring rain and visibility down to nearly zero with the spray being thrown up. I kept losing sight of a white van in front of me even though it had full lights on, and some of the nutters were still pi$$ing by at well over a ton!

In Northampton the huge revenue the police pull in from cameras and mobiles in is called a stealth tax locally. I was caught and clocked at 47 in a 40 limit. No schools, no pedestrian areas, just part of the ring road. There is no round up of limits in Northampton to say 50 like a lot of other counties.......40 + your 10% speedo accuracy allowence makes 44 therefore 47mph costs
