Houston Street Racing
I was over in Houston last week and one night found myself lined up at a stop light next to a white S2000...... as I was missing my S I looked over to see the driver looking at me so I gave him a big thumbs up
I dropped the window and shouted "Nice car! I've got one in the UK" to which the reply was "Dream on!"
A little taken aback I didn't bother arguing the point and looked forward at the lights just as he started revving...... from occassional viewing of the Street Encounters forum I couldn't resist this clear sign that he wanted to show me how fast his S was.
Green light...... screeching tyres...... into 2nd...... upto 60mph....... his S2000 was a full car length behind when I back off and slow for the next red light. Would he look over? would he bugger!
I never thought I'd get a kick out of beating a fellow S2k but have to admit I pissed myself laughing with this one!
I was driving a friends two week old Mustang GT (the new shape) and have to admit its a great car for what he paid for it! In a straight line its very quick and makes a superb V8 growl..... slow wide corners + a live axel and loads of torque = tail out fun and burnt rubber any time you fancy it. Much improved over the last version which I drove about 4 years ago but still not great on a fast twisty road (not that Houston has many!) as it has loads of sideways and fore/aft body movement.
