Now that sounds like the pad you are looking at is slighty larger than one that has previously been on the car and had caused the original disk ware, if you put new pads on and they overlap the ridge on the disk then I would change the disk as well as the pad won't be contacting the disc correctly till it's worn in.
If the new pads sit off the ridge you have no problem. Could be someone tried some fancy pads in the past that wern't to OEM spec.
Well I have pagid ones to put on, will have to measure them to ensure they're the right diameter for the disc.

Out of curiosity how much am I looking at for 2 new oem discs?

Will get pictures when I get the wheels off again, at work at the moment and struggling to find any time in the evening.
OEM!!! £86.15 + VAT rear each, &137.83 + VAT front each.

Local motor factor or online retail £35-40 each, and you don't need grooved or drilled.

Those are all rear brake discs, just so we're sure we are talking about the right thing, when I say the back pad, I'm talking about the one behind the disc on the front wheel not the rear pad on the rear wheel.

Fluid changed, sliders cleaned and greased, pads changed, both discs feel like the same temp now (******* hot).

Heres what the old pads looked like when they came off, still plenty of meat on them too.

Yep, thats just a slightly wider pad bedded into the wear patten of the disc, very narrow so if the new one is the same it will bed in nice and quickly. But be aware untill it does the contact won't be perfect so easy on the pedal.

Sounds rather expensive to me. I sourced a refurbished caliper from JRT after doing a search on here:

Including fitting, and with pads. And I kept my hands clean, Guaranteed & pads for life, I don't think that was too bad, the caliper was down as costing £165 (£40 more than JRT) pads £54.80(ouch! but will never have to pay again) and £11.95 for break fluid and bleed. And labour time absorbed into the prices.
A damn site less than Honda would charge.
