you can physically see the cable running into the engine bay, goes somewhere on or around the intake manifold bud, you can see the cable quite easily, so just see if its stiff (oh matron)

Right i can move the cable now which controls either hot or cold air.
The issue is where the cable is moved it doesnt seem to be moving the white apparatus that its connected too behind the airbag.
Mhhm any thoughts

This is the white thing im talking about.
Note in the first pic the cable is disconnected.
This blurry one shows where the cable connects.
I cant seem to get this white thing to move. And it doesnt move when the temp control is moved. Its all connected up. One green wire loom in the back of the heater controls in the cabin.
Any ideas?

There are going to be two behind there - one for directing the flow to your feet or screen and one for temp, having never been behind the dash I have no idea which one that is but make sure you're checking the right one. Maybe detach the cable and actuate by hand to make sure it's moving the right thing

I belive that the direction appartus is in the drivers footwell.
This part is, as far as i can tell. The right part that moved the cable on the engine bay part. I can pull and push it and ot moved the switchy valve majiger.
Is it a possibility that the motor that runs the heater valve control thing has failed?

In order of elimination I have checked the valve in the bay - Fine
Cable connecting from valve in engine bay to internal apparatus - fine
Internal apparatus operates as it should (by hand) - fine
Motor connecting to apparatus works fine when connected to battery but is not receiving power / signal from switch in car.
Interior fuse - fine
Fan functionality, AC functionality & fan direction all working - fine
This leaves two options (as I see it):
1.) Switch is broken for heater control resulting in no signal being sent to the motor module that controls the valve in engine bay.
2.) A loose / broken wire in the loom from the switch to the motor module.
On the back of the heater control unit I can see an: ON / OFF embossing on the plastic. Opposite side to where the loom plugs into the back of the button part. What is this, worth checking (will require me taking the digital dash part off the dash).
