My 54 reg has had its front bumper replaced, would this be why the horn isnt working anymore? is there two horns on these cars? i can see the main horn by the battery.
See my comment above about number and location of horns.

Your MY04 should be the same as mine: one where the new air horn is fitted, and one o/s/f behind the bumper! As I said, I have left the latter in position, but you have to know how to release the connector block, as this can be tricky as you can't see what you are doing unless you take the bumper off.

Oh this would explain why my horn isnt working then, im guessing he has disconected the horn by the bumper and the other horn by the battery gets its live from there aswell?

Don't think that can be so! My horn behind the bumper is just disconnected, but the supply to the second horn is still live.

Silly question. Have you checked the fuse?

I've had a look in my handbook and the only reference to protection of the horn circuit is (horn) relay three in the main under-bonnet fuse box. It is possible that this relay has an internal fuse link. Some relays do have one in the primary circuit.

However, you did say that you had power out from the relay. Are you sure that this is from the secondary circuit when the horn push is depressed? The other thing to check is whether you are getting a live feed at the connector to the visible horn, again, when the horn push is depressed.

Yes thats the one I checked. How do I know if the relay is working? And is there a fuse for the horn anywhere?

As I said above, there is no horn fuse marked in my handbook, but there may be one inside the casing of the relay.

You could check your fuse relay (3) by using one of the lighting relays (1 or 2) in its place. The worst case scenario then is that if there is a major short in the horn circuit you will blow that relay as well!

The easiest answer is to refer to the relay schematic in one of my earlier posts, and with a few bits of wire it would be fairly easy to check it out on the 'bench'.
