disconnect the battery - how long for depends on who you ask, it's either ten seconds, 30 seconds or ten mins.

No harm in giving it ten mins to be on the safe side.

There should be some screw heads on the back of the steering wheel (if it's like the one on my civic) which you unscrew, then pull it off.

There will be a cable connecting it to the centre of the wheel so be careful not to pull to quickly.

Of course, it may not tell you very much - beacuse with the battery disconnected you won't be able to test the horn, and there really isn't very much to see!

Double check your handbook for a fuse there should be one. If not there are 2 plastic covers 1 either side of the steering wheel. Then undo the screws they are torques bits i think. Remove airbag carefully as there is a wire connected to it as mentioned above. Disconnect it via the block connector connecting it to the SRS ring not the plug at the back of the airbag.

Might be an idea to check the wiring as well.

I have an after market horn and the relay breaks every 1-2years. Last time I fixed it the connectors at the horn itself where at fault due corrosion.
