Default Hood not dropping completely

A couple of weeks ago I dropped the hood and it did not seem to sit as low as it used to.

I put it up and down a few times and the problem seemed to go away.

It now seems to be happening more and more often, almost like something is seizing.

Is this a common problem and is there an obvious solutions before I take it to the dealer?

Cheers

Nick

It seems to be a common problem. When the hood is cold it wont drop fully. You need to put it up and down a couple of times or warm it up then it's fine.

It's the cold Nick - tis all

Exercise the hood, up down up down.

Blast hot air until the cabin warms up.

are the most common solutions.

Clean the inside of the roof. Huge anounts of crap on it from the Summer along with the cold are the problem.
Finish off with some slidey stuff (eg: silicon spray) and it'll work fine again.

I get this on my MY05, but a short burst of driving makes it go down properly
