I've got a JDM but have yet to have any discs.

Can you ask them the difference ?..My dealer advised they all come down the same production line and although some engine parts may have different part numbers, they are the same car. Other parts can't be that different....Its not cost effective for Honda.

Is he sourcing them from Japan ? and can he tell you the difference apart from the part number ? Will he fit UK ones instead ?

You might want to try asking (pm)Scov who works for a dealership, he may clear it up.

Obviously, I'd be very interested in the outcome

Good idea, there's a guy who was in for servicing at the same time who works in almost the same place (about 10 miles out in the channel) and he has the sam esalt corrosion issues.
When his discs arrive the dealer is going to check them against mine, otherwise it is ridiculous.
Any recommended non-Honda brands?

I'm sure they're no different.

For Shipley's benefit these have done 54k and still have some life left, just the winter atmosphere down here is very salty (i work on the coast).
Front pads have done that 54K as well, I don't brake much

54k on a set of pads?

You need to visit Warwickshire or where my folks live in Kent... or maybe it was the 2 weeks in the Alps?

I just changed mine at 32k

Rob - aren't you a little lost I don't think I've ever seen you over here

As we were discussing yesterday - everything is made in the same place regardless of where you buy the car so that sounds unreasonable. Can't you just ask them to put on the uk ones on??
