Honda UK and my 17" OEM alloys
A quick update on my corroded wheel situation.
As luck would have it, the first winter out of warranty took its toll on my poor 17" OEM alloys. They were also a little kerbed and could do with some TLC, however it was the corrosion that was bugging me most.
A refurb would have got them looking good as new, but I had heard on here that Honda had been sympathetic to this in the past as it is a known issue.
So during my 27k service, I asked my local dealer if they would look into it. They were reluctant given the economic climate.
So with a little help from Satsuma , I took the matter up directly with Honda UK. After liaising with the dealer, they offered to replace all four with new ones for

I don't actually know. I'm going to talk to HUK to establish this.
All P+L are covered for 12 months by the dealership, however you'd like to think these would be subject to a 3yr. Will revert back when I hear.

nice one..
how bad were your wheels before hand then..?
do you think it's worth a punt on a 2004.. however the kerbing from the previous owner is worse than the corrosion.. wishful thinking huh..?!

IIRC, wheels that were replaced FOC under warranty only carried 12 months. Certainly was the case when I had mine replaced on my MY02 ...
thewiseboatmaker, you can always try...

Wheels replaced under warranty only have the original 3 year warranty on them. Ie if you have your wheels replaced on the last day of the 3 year warranty you have no further warranty cover on them.
However, in this case you've actually paid for the wheels (albeit substantially discounted) so you'd have a strong case for arguing that you should get a 12 month warranty on them.

Wheels getting refurbed this week so hopefully on by the weekend with a full set of RE050's on
Can I ask how much it is costing you to have them refurbished? Whereabouts are you getting them done? And importantly, are you having the diamond cut finish restored?
Thanks.
