I have now stopped using dealers. As Bibbs says, I use an excellent Honda mechanic (at weekends) who does everything I ask and I keep the receipts for parts. I also log oil purchases etc.

I pay 50% of dealer charges and can watch everything he does to the car. Its much better value for money, and you have the additional confidence of actually seeing the work done.

I think mine comes down to a severe lack of confidence with mechanics over the years.

Dealers, independants and tuners.

If you think these costs are bad, just ring your local Ralliart dealer

Cheers for the feedback folks. General consensus is to carry on using Honda for services, and any other work either do yourself or get a reliable mechanic to do for you.

I don't have a problem with the price they charged, and I can easily afford it. I was just interested to see what everyone else does. I've never owned any kind of performance car before so I thought I'd ask the question.

In future I will provide my own oil

If I did decide to take the car elsewhere, it would have been to a garage who specialise in performance cars at least.

This is a good question. Good answers too.

Beware having the valve clearances done by
Honda dealers though, they simply dont allow
enough time to do it right. Do it yourself.

Russ.
