Default Honda service & tyres

Hello everyone

Bit fed up so going to moan a bit.......

Cars just been in for service. Don't mind paying for this as still in warrantee.

However they have washed it after it was already clean and it looks a mess!
Also, I wanted them to check the valve adjustments and clutch buzz, non of which they have done. What do I have to do to get a good service in the UK? Do it myself?

Need rear tyres too, which they can't get for me. Goodyear eagle f1. So I've got to get them myself.

I wish I didn't have warrantee left.
I'd service myself and do it all.

Need a good garage near Leicester.
An s2000 man!!! And a perfectionist like myself

Rant over

I know the feeling well.

Why can't your average Honda dealer follow a few simple instruction,s and the service schedule and do what they've been paid to do .

Do they not realise not all of us are as gullable as most other people .

You don't have to go to Honda do you ? I thought the warranty law had changed in that as long as you use Honda parts they can't invalidate the warranty.

/edit by this I don't mean DIY - I mean a good independent

Not sure to be honest. I'm sure the warrantee is useless anyway

Il service it myself after it runs out. 2 years left

He does if it's an extended warranty. (A perfectionist would know it's not a warrantee )

Try a different dealer if you can, they are not all bad.

It's often helpful to take a mechanic out for a drive so he can hear the clutch buzz. Also, they will usually wash it, so ask them not to if you want, most people would be appreciative of a wash which is why they do it as part of the service.

Why would they not do the valve adjustments? Was it perhaps because they know to do it properly the engine has to be stone cold? Did you ask them why not?

My experience of independents is that they are no better or worse than my local dealers. Car is usually left covered in greasy handprints for example, my local independent couldn't manage to fit a cat properly.

Yeah I guess you take a chance and deal with it. I don't like to come across as a moaning customer, in case it makes them even more not bothered (bad grammar)

They said they did the adjustments back in may. But I'm not convicted they did.

On a scale of 1-bad, how easy is it to do? I'm good with cars and engines, to a point.

I thought the warranty law change said any VAT registered garage could do the service and if non Honda parts are used for repair they (understandably) are not covered.

What gets me is the honda service has nothing to do with the original scedule, if you want your valves done it costs extra even if it's in the S2000 scedule. Buy buy Honda hello independant.

They did my wifes Jazz valve adjustments a while back and the car came back worse than it was in the first place, I got my money back and did it myself!

Right. Defo doing it myself. Any help?!?!

It sounded like a sack of spammers before it went in and the same when it came out. Clutch buzz isn't that bad to be fair.
I'd like to listen to other people's at the next meet hint hint
