You could always try supplying your own plugs and oil to bring the cost right down?

This is a tricky one indeed....

Mines only got 46k on it, but its had its 54k service at 41k miles because the guy thought he would be proactive.

This has made it quite hard to piece together a service as its the parts the actual 40k service the car missed, excluding all the parts from the 54k, and then adding the parts of the 72k service (having 72k because of age and not mileage).

Ill go ahead with this to keep the service books looking good for when i sell it, but next time, now i am aware, i will try to provide my own parts as i do not know if they use good oil, filters and plugs etc. They bloody should do for that price! Illd expect nothing less than fully synthetic with platinum plugs.

Note on F-MainDealer-SH

The older the car is, the less important the MainDealer bit gets.

Would I touch a 2/3 year old without Honda history - No
Would I touch a 6/7/8 year old with *reputable* indy - Yes
Over 8 years old - as long as the history after above is full then probably yes. I'd want to see the docs to make sure they'd done the relevant servicing (i.e. proper plugs, valve clearances, fluid changes etc. all on schedule)

This goes for any car really.
