Tell me this then. If all Honda agents use 10W40 oils of one sort or another why does the manual say 10W30?

Had mine serviced at the weekend and I asked what oil they had used so I knew what to top up with. They said Shell Helix semi-synthetic 10/40W. I was a bit perplexed as to why Honda dealers weren't using the recomended 10/30W.

My dealer (springfield of Durham) gave me an oil top up kit, 1L of Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 synth, funnels and wipes. So i hope thats what they used in the service or else im
