We all have the wrong car though, a Clio RSI is apparently one of the fastest cars on the road.

Ha that site is so funny!

That guy really has no idea what a fast car is. I love the list of cars he's "beat". I bet most of the drivers were'nt even trying to race him either. Ohh but now he has a Clio 172 that "Will blast most things off the road...".

He even thinks his old R5 with 72bhp could beat a 320 beemer, a 1.8 Z3 and all Escorts apart from the Cossy (what about the Gti and RS2000?)>

I guarantee that this guy drives everywhere at atleast 60mph in a 30 zone thinking 'wow my car is so fast - look how I'm "blasting" all these other cars'.

From my exoerience and from reading this thread other poster's experience too; you lucked out. I've met one R32 on the roads willing to race and he was duly slaughtered from 40-140 (kph obviously).

Not far off the S2000 I must say, and in weather like this you could well pull out a lead from a standing start.

I read the cr@p that he'd written on all his cars and I was seriously amused.

I'm certain most of the cars didn't even realise he was trying to race them.

Do we really think this chassis could safely cope with much more power? IMO without a redesign the way to improve the S2k is to strip it out to improve bhp/ton

Personally I don't care what's faster than me, straight line speed is for girls anyway! You townies who don't have any proper corners to go round seem to have to justify the car by racing everyone off the lights and getting the tail on roundabouts

Im sure i've read some where that the S was designed to cope with 400BHP, chassis and engine/gearbox.

judging by the amount of people who can't control the standard car, God only knows what would happen if it had another 60 brake.

ime it's mostly people who can't drive, who want ultimate amounts of power

they'd probably have it through FWD as well, if they could

because it's EASY

On the road, the S is plenty fast enough. If you are struggling to outpace something on public roads - anything - then you are probably driving very close to dangerously and almost certainly breaking the limi

Nice work guys. 6 replies in 15 mins.
The s would beat the r32 from 30mph rolling in normal conditions.
But its damn fine watching you bite.
R32's are bloody quick.. They are also bloody expensive and if you're gonna get a 'practical car' I'd go for a scooby myself, the R32 doesn't corner that well.. Awesome in a straight line though and VW so probably keep chuggin on for ever and a day. Can't get the lid off though eh
