I met an R32 a while back on a *long* uphill slip road onto the A1M.
Both of us were side by side going onto the slip road ..... by the end of it I was at least couple of cars lengths ahead.
Either he was in a high gear, or he wasn't trying.

More torque methinks - this would be what caused the win.

Nice work guys. 6 replies in 15 mins.
The s would beat the r32 from 30mph rolling in normal conditions.
But its damn fine watching you bite.

Seems to be more a point of better traction off the line rather than horses. Besides horses isn't the be all and end all. I've only got 190 but could whip most porkers, r32s and most other cars you care to mention. However this isn't the point of a) my car and b) the S2000 either.
If either car was next to me at the lights and the road wasn't perfectly dry I'd have trouble getting away without wheelspin. Never had that prob in my S - apart from on cold tyres - or in the very wet.

Anyone want to own up to NB blue 02 on A38 this morning?
""S2k murders R32" - I had a bit of clutch slippage and let him get ahead at the start, then VTEC came in and I murdered him!"
Agree with you and Lurking Lawyer, Honda have really let the game pass them by - it's all very well tinkering with door pockets, slidey console covers, rear screens, and some suspension softening, but that was never going to be enough to persuade me to spend a few thousand quid to step out of an MY00 into a virtually identical car. When the S2000 first came out, the power was impressive. Now, it just isn't. Come on Honda, compete!

Honda are going to have to up the stakes a bit. just outdragged a s2000 from lights. I levelled off at 65 but he just had to come screaming past vtecing his little heart out. I nearly hit the kurb laughing. Anyone want to own up to NB blue 02 on A38 this morning?
Seriously though I only eased off at 65 coz i knew hed probably catch me and I know how hard it is to launch the S so i saw my window and took it. Still good fun though. Happy Boxster bashing guys

I've smoked R32 on a number of occasions. Lots of lard needs lots of torque. Lard doesn't corner very well either.
...and it's a default car choice.

I would have done the same, lull them into a false sense of security then just peel past em like their standing still
Who was that poor fella on MM1 anyhow?????
R32 = common untswagon with a better engine!!
