Honda Johnson’s of Oxford Reputation
Hi all
Does anyone have any experience of using the Oxford Honda dealership Johnson’s of Oxford? I bought my S2000 in September and would like to take it for a service in the next few months.
Thanks and merry Christmas

I have used them for the past 3 years and they have been fine. They pick up the car and drop it off within a day, as an aside they also told me only one engineer is allowed to drive the S2000's. I don't know how true that is but if true its pretty reassuring.
I was surprised how much detail they went into when looking over the car for a service, luckily they gave the car a good bill of health (the receptionist was very nice about my car, I do not think they get many in).
I don't think they change all fluids as part of the standard service as I had to ask for gearbox and diff oil separately, I would also do smaller things yourself if you can (for me that was spark plugs and unclogging the windscreen washer pipes/valves) as they are expensive.
I need my geo bolts doing this year and don't know if I should use Honda or have a chat with Hond-R out past Witney.

I used them first in 2017 and they saw no need for repairs. So fine. 2018 the bill came to £ 1,500! New discs and calipers on the rear - yes it was needed but very expensive at a dealer with OEM parts. Plus one light ballast - that part alone was about £ 400. It's possible the strategy is to rope you in in the first year and then ding you in the 2nd year, They kept calling and emailing in 2019... Just saying!

just follow the honda sheet in terms of what needs doing and dictate to them, i noticed mine had all sorts of random and they didnt bother with stuff like coolant ever..
i just DIY and follow what Honda recommend now

Reputations can be destroyed by service receptionists or technicians upselling for bonus, bloody same. Generally speaking about dealers, not this one in particular btw.
