Hot water for me as well, and looks so much better for no cost and minimum effort.

I used WD40, then dental floss to get the badges off. For the glue left on the wing, soak in WD40 for 15 mins, then scrape off with new-style driving license which is soft enough to not damage paint.

you can use white spirt aqnd soft rag to remove residues of the glue and re-polish

Oh i did this 6 years ago, think the badges are very tacky looking bit er japanese in fact , Oh er
