Honda axes the NSX.

thats a point hasnt that leg end got about 300 bhp?
It also has night vision and the clever SH-AWD:
So long as you keep on the power, it uses an overdrive to overspeed the outer rear wheel, in order to counter understeer. Most stability controls brake the inside front wheel to do this.
That is bad, for it slows the car down and cooks the brakes after a while.
The Honda system should mean that the car handles superbly, even if the driver is the sort of tyro who thinks the S2000 is too difficult. It flatters rather than scolds, yet rewards correctness.
The 'new Prelude' should make the CLK and the A5 look a bit ridiculous.

The HSC was a lightweight car designed around the J35 V6, a sort of Noble with Honda engineering, if you will.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, get it out with Optrex.
(Spike Milligan)
There were some good parts, but not enough people got it. Perhaps it looked like it should have been faster than it was, perhaps the styling cues (fairly Honda corporate mostly) will make it to the final cut.
I understand that Honda politely refused offers of deposits.
I also suspect that the reason the 06 Civic was shown nearly a year prior to launch, was that their corporate self-confidence was knocked by the HSC.

Nick, sorry, too many beers, but what you are saying is that Honda are to bring out a Prelude replacement in the mean time?

Don't apologise for that Gaz!
The precise timescale is uncertain, but yes, the current rumour is CRX/Prelude around 2007 & 2008. That is a likely time for S2000 to cease production.
CRX is likely to replace Integra, so we could assume 'Lude will oust S.
Apparently, Honda have considered a Migraine-style folding hardtop for the CRX, but, like BMW, they're not too keen on all that extra weight carried high up.

I think Honda should concentrate on a successor to the S2000 rather than a 'Supercar'.....
Yes the NSX may technically have been superior to a contemporary Ferrari but anyone with petrol flowing through their veins would have chosen the Ferrari......the same can't be said of someone choosing between a Boxster for example and an S2000
I'd like to see a state of the art replacement to the S2000

Went to Chiswick Hondfa today to see about the last 11 NSX's arriving in to the Country. Turns out they are nothing different than a normal NSX, just that the colours are slightly different. they are using S2000 Silverstone instead of Sebring and Ascari red etc.
Only difference is that the colour combos are already chosen.
I saw Welshmans LBB there for sale. Very nice. Chiswick wanted
