Honda alarm problems

Just a bit of background and reinforces what others have said.

Honda Manufacturing in Japan fit a CAT2 system as standard (the grey fob). That would be uninsurable in the UK though so Honda UK had to retrofit a CAT1 system (the black fobs).

The CAT1 system sits over the top of the CAT2 system. Operating the CAT1 overrides the CAT2 but operating the CAT2 doesn't override the CAT1. Hence why the grey remote becomes nigh on useless since the CAT1 system will cause alarm to go off and keep the vehicle immobilised

Problem was the HondaUK system is a remowned POS

Good good, thanks.

The alarm guy that is fitting the Clifford system later in the week knows the S2000 and the Hamilton Palmer units in them, and suggested its a good idea to rip out all of the old system before fitting the new system. Glad he seems to know what he's doing specifically with the S2k and its original alarm. Looking forward to having an alarm that functions and knowing when I've locked it with a nice visual display of indicators!
