Default HOLY SH**********************T !

blasting off from traffic lights near my house as i usually do.i noticed that when changing into second the throttle pedal decided to stay glued to the carpet.

i was aproaching a roundabout at the time as well,so i thought...bugger.

any way i dipped the clutch and braked for the roundybout causing the engine to bounce off the rev limiter about three times.

so i decided to slam my foot on and off the gas pedal.

hey presto the pedal bounced back up.

i gave it a dab of oppo and i was on my way.

anyway i am now wondering if the pedal got stuck on the carpet or the cable is shagged.

Check the throttle body for deposits & the pivot point spring of the throttle pedal.

Good decision not driving the poofta car.

Clean your throttle body & spring with choke cleaner & re-lube.

You could fill the throttle cable with WD40 & see if that helps.

Otherwise, if it's the floor mat, diall 911 on your cellphone & bleat stupidly at plod into it whist crashing into the nearest parapet. Oh, it has to be a Toyotota for that to woirk.

I'm quite relieved at the lack of nudity, to be fair.

This happened to me in the S once, although not quite as dramatic as it was on a dual carriageway way in a straight line.....still scary though!....and it was the carpet!
