HKS Silent Hi-Power Muffler
has anyone bought or heard this newer HKS exhaust - the old one that most folk have on here has been discontinued apparently and this is the only one available now.
was wondering if it is "silent" or what?
the thing that previously put me off the HKS was that folk said it was quite loud/droney at low RPMs - not really feeling that idea - i want an exhaust that makes itself heard when you floor it but not so mch at low RPMs.
ideally i'd like a mugen but they obviously cost hella cash and rarely pop-up 2nd hand.

I suspect Billy is talking about the drone that you get between 3,000 and 3,500 or so revs. It's louder than stock, even at idle, but the main noise gains are under load, higher up the rev range.
Billy, I've not heard it myself but word is that it's quieter than the old Hiper. Not as quiet as the name might imply, but still not as raucous as the older version.
(Don't discount the old one until you've actually heard it in action from inside the car - plenty still crop up on the FS&W board and on ebay. IMHO it's still one of the best exhausts out there, in terms of sound and bang for your buck)

Billy , foolish you. You have turned from the path of true faith. I refer you to the Gospel of St Brian for words of true wisdom and spiritual enlightenment.

hmmm, still dunno.
had a skunk2 catback on my ctr and it became a tad tiresome at low revs as it was pretty boomy.
just need to wait and see what comes up i reckon.
emailed takakaira about the new HKS - they quoted

Hmmm, Matt presumably doesn't have anything to compare it to though. He needs to attend a meet where his exhaust can be compared to the old HKS and some other aftermarket exhausts
