I thought 185who was low? It's 218bhp at fly ish. Mine was on standard dyno.

Your all mad in my opinion running standard rad boosted, it's so skinny and pathetic.

jim yours is a vortech with a much smaller thinner heat exchange than the HKS intercooler. Its not the power that causes the issue its the lack of air flow.

Define if you want to email me your aem map i can check your fan settings and coolant calibration if you want. It will only take 5 minutes but worth a go. I know some tuners get funny about these things being shared.

You also need to set up the datalogging to give you the full picture of whats going on with your coolant temperatures when the car is under load.

Just to clear up with mine which is tegiwa with fans that my temperatures never get out of control and when cruising they stay pretty good but i know if i drove it on track then i would run into issues as you cant compared it to road driving.

I swapped the rad whilst I was at it.

Mines a Paxton N1200 (CT kit) but they're all the same.

I have an 2.5" thick 26" X 9" heat exchanger filling the full void. I also run nearly 20 psi of boost which does generate more heat. Also my AIT will be higher than the HKS's kit so I'm surprised that the OEM rad can't cope with " a couple of WOT pulls" that's all.

Yeah jim there is defo something wrong with his cooling set up as i know other guys have the same kit and set up and it doesn't over heat after a few dyno runs. My money is on that the fans aren't set correctly and that the coolant system needs bleeding. If the fans aren't set correctly on the AEM then they will only come on via the radiator fan switch which on the dash will appear quite hot because of the way the AEM emulates the standard dash temperature gauge.

Out of interest and i know this is abit off topic what sort of intake temperatures do you see during a trackday? During this hot weather with water injection i see about 32c inlet temperatures which is pretty good in my eyes.

Anywhere from +15'c to +25'c over ambient

FMIC are far more effective.

I'm at Cadwell on the 18th so ill datalog a 20 minute session.

My intake temps run between 45 and 55 degrees, sometimes hotter in traffic, I haven't fitted charger kit yet

I took the car for a drive today and saw 35-50'c. Sat in traffic it goes into the 60's until moving again.

That's with the standard AEM sensor calibration for the AIT sensor and located in the intake manifold. I'm going to relocate it to just before the TB and see if it stops heatsoak.

From what I've read Honda did this in MY06+ cars

I'm also thinking about water meth.

I always thought that chargecooling was better. I know you tend to get more boost if i remember correctly as you haven't got all the long intercooler pipework. Water is also so much better at dealing with heat. At idle you would probably have to fit some fans to the cooler to keep the airflow high enough to keep the temperatures down

Would be interesting to see someone chargecool the HKS kit as looking at it it wouldn't take much to do but the costs would be pretty big. I would imagine £1000 with a decent chargecooler and radiator set up
