Sorry, couldn't resist, but I agree entirely, a shorter first few ratios and a longer 6th would be the ideal. Oh and a supercharger. I'd like that alot.

Ah no wonder you were going through the gears so quickly! I was thinking if that was just down to the extra power from the charger then it's a little annoying.

Oh I also run 255 40 17 tyres on the rear so that I believe would reduce the 8.3% difference to around 7%

My head hurts trying to figure that out. You need a GPS log!

I have found that 255/40/17 A048R rears with a stock 4.1:1 diff result in < 1% speedo error when compared to a sat nav GPS (I have a Yellow Jacket but it is set at 0 0 with those tyres).

Just to confuse matters further, I have previously calibrated the speedo against a sat nav using the Yellow Jacket and it then read higher than my GPS data logger which leads me to believe my sat nav reads a bit fast - maybe deliberate built in error?

True, but in a straight line my 430 ish bhp Evo couldn't shake a 991 C2S. But the Evo does have the aerodynamic properties of a brick.

What I found funny is I was cornering faster than some 997's and my AYC wasn't working.
