Just a heads up, looks like evasive motorsports have fitted their s2000 with the HKS kit, but fitted the hks 8550 charger to the car. Got the air intake sitting right next to the manifold too! No details on the setup, or what power it makes, but looks interesting!

I've not run the Tial Q, I did run the QR with a hose positioned to the bottom of the engine bay and i would say the Tial was louder. I think the only way of running a quieter sett up would be to route a QR back into the inlet.

I did this and it was nice and quiet. No cheery noise.

Looks to me like they positioned the air filter there as they are running a v mount setup so have no space to bring the air filter forward.

Nah, does not look like they are running a v mount, looks plenty of room in the usual place! the 8550 seems to have the ports facing slightly different, so maybe that's why? Either way, will be interesting what power it makes, and what boost. And what sort of red line they are running, pretty sure the 8550 has a lower max impeller rpm compared from the standard 7040.

But to be honest, the cost is probably going to be around £3k? for the 8550 and the alterations needed, not really a worth while upgrade unless you can sell your own 7040 for strong money. Plus does not look like they are revising the 8550 to the "black" edition so it may still have the same problems the 7040 has with stripping threads and snapping shafts.

I've been out of touch with the HKS thread. Whats happened with the faults being reported on the HKS units re: stripping threads and snapping shafts? Anything else has been reported and what have people been doing to remedy the situation. I'm slowly putting my S back on the road; I know I had to use a different HKS oil filter (short pink one) because the normal honda blue kept rubbing against the pipework with my oil pressure / oil temperature sender units.

still running full size oil filter with no issues.
Bought a Tial BOV to remedy mine as it started fluttering.
Fitted 4 pots due to brakes dying on track.
Fitted new wheels Rota fighters to clear caliper.

Off to oulton park on friday so will see how shes doing.
