HKS SC kit topic

I'm not sure what driving daily has to do with anything? I would quite happily drive the car daily with this charger as your hardly likely to be redlining like you do on track (unless you're one of those bell ends who has to max out first gear at every traffic light).
I think the reliability issues need to be kept in perspective.

I think the HKS kit looks good. Clever design, easy belt change compared to TTS. The pulleys on my TTS kit are not great and the belt swap is a pain in the ass. I think the rotrex charger is stronger though. Maybe that's just a result of the bad BOV though.

Agreed the mounting bracket and pulleys is built to last and very easy to remove.
Its a shame there is no option to adapt the kit to a rotrex charger but im sure it could be done if someone spent abit of time on it.

For sure if mine goes i will look to modify the kit to mount a Rotrex charger unless HKS issue an updated version of their charger.
As to what could happen if the charger goes bang!?! if any loose parts break off it could be the end of the engine but the failures so far are stripping an internal thread which prevents the compressor side of the charger from spinning. Nothing is physically blowing up so id say your pretty safe.

Just to let you all know i have a revised design adapter bracket for the TIAL BOV being made up and providing there is no fitment issues i will have a batch made and added to my website. The new design will give additional clearance to the engine pulleys and rectify the tight fit the first batch had.

Just ordered my adapter but cant afford to buy both even though its a cracking deal so will have to wait and buy the BOV seperately.
Managed to get hold some Rota fighter wheels at the right offset as i needed and guess what... still dont clear the damn calipers so had to order some cheap 5mm spacers as that should give enough extra to clear...
The car was lucky it didnt get smashed up, took my anger out on the wrench and concrete floor instead
