HKS SC kit topic

Because I live in Norfolk, I was able to get Matty to do it for me (he of crazy turbocharged / sequential gearbox S2000 fame), so was very reasonable (I can't even remember how much, but I dropped them off and collected them, as his workshop is 15 minutes from my house).
I was hoping that he could machine the H&R spacers or copy then to have the correct centre bore (so the wheels didn't have to be machined to allow them to be rotated), but there was insufficient material on a 15mm spacer to do this. You could probably do it on a 20mm spacer, so that the wheels did not need to be machined, but such spacers would have to be custom made, as no-one does this AFAIAA. However, if it is possible, it would be something that Matty could do no problem (he owns a machining company ).

This other recent HKS failure, does any one know if the guy was on the standard HKS BOV? and did he ever get the compressor surge when coming off the throttle? anyone able to contact to ask?
a few guys on the brz forum are starting to attribute the failure to this

I have the standard BOV and get flutter every now and again but my charger is fine.
I don't rev it past 8500 and never go above 3500rpm until the engine oil is up to running temperature (75-80c).
We need to look into how the cars where driven... some people aren't as mechanically sympathetic as others. Some poeple seem to think that when water is up to temp (3 bars) they can just give it the beans but that is not the case.
Also did they check fluid levels frequently, did it run low on traction fluid, did they run the charger in like it says too, 65 miles or so i believe.
There are too many variables to get a definitive answer.

I leave my car to idle in the garage before it even moves, and then wait for it to warm up some more when driving before giving it any beans.
The traction fluid had not moved, only thing i did note was that the fluid looked dirty after it had failed
i have hardly even driven mine on the new charger, probably a couple hundred miles, my car has become a weekend only.
