a moderately fettled S2 like these have c380bhp and weigh lets say 1300kg with the added bits that's >290bhp/ton

a Z4 M has 338bhp and weighs 1470kg so 229bhp/ton

Its also genuinely a much more responsive and engaging car than an E92, albeit less 'day to day' friendly (mine is very loud and often has a decat on so stinks)...

And those BMs and Porsches are not ford mondeos, they do break a lot....

horses for courses but the HKS kit was a bargain at that price imo.. withstanding the bov fault

I'm not wanting to start a debate or cheese off those that have decided this is the route they wanted .

As said I'm asking questions about the kit so as to come to a decision if it's for me or not .

At the GB price I would have 100% gone for it .... but at the currant price and the hike in the aem ecu price it's just looking less like a fun project / mod .

Again i appreciate all the info and people's opinions on it .

I know where you are coming from, I wouldn't buy it at that price but I don't think I could go back to an NA s2000 now I've got a supercharged one.

your options are

SoS
TTS
HKS

SSS

I'd price each up in your position, all good kits.

I dont think you will cheese anyone off, most of us on here are a bit tongue in cheek with our comments. In all honestly i've been in much faster cars but there's something about a modified car that i love. Not many people will have a similar car and thats what i love. My best friend has a R8 V10 Plus and yes its probably one of the fastest things on the road but i get a sense of accomplishment when i look back at my car and i know i wouldnt get the same from a car that i picked up off a showroom floor. In fact i have a 2015 m135i which is completely standard and in most instances it will be quicker than my S but i dont love it like i love the S.

If you're local to me you're welcome to come for a drive and see what its like rather than reading the facts and figures online.

Thanks Harvey appreciate the offer

and i completely get what you're saying about your s . I too love a tastefully modded car and feel the same once I've made it what I want .... and funny enough a friend of mine has a v10 plus in his collection ( how do some people have all the luck !) and it's an absolute monster !!
